About The Wales Swim

Friday evening is the opening challenge of the weekend, where athletes take to North Beach, Tenby to compete in The Wales Swim in one of its two forms; the short course consisting of one lap of the route equalling 1.2 miles, or the long distance course which is two laps, totalling 2.4 miles.

Please note - photographic identification will be required at registration. Athletes without this may not be registered by the start time of the event.

Field of Play
The course is a 1.2 mile or 2.4 mile swim, depending on entry level.

Competition Format
The Wales Swim can be entered by anyone who feels they are capable of competing. There is gender separation, so men and women compete for first place in their respective category.

Officials are assigned for the start/finish line of the course, with members of the RNLI also helping out in both the water and on land. Most members of the crew are volunteers – if you wish to volunteer to help during the course of the weekend, click here.
